I have been inactive for almost 6 months…

Do people seriously think Dev is a Kesha clone?

PLEEEASE. Both are female rappers, yes, but that doesn’t make Dev a copy of Kesha. Dev has been in the game since before “Tik Tok” even came out, (she signed with Indie-Pop Records in 2009 and was supposed to release her first album in April 2009) and saying that Dev is a Kesha clone is plain stupid. Their music is nothing alike. Their voices are nothing alike. Only thing they have in common is that they’re both white female singers who “sing-talk”. If that makes Dev a copy of Kesha then every rapper out there is a copycat.

Reason I write this is because of some stupid song called “What’s a Dev?” by a Kesha fan, and some Facebook page with the same name with 20 likes. Yeah, 20 likes is very successful… *sigh*

I’m a fan of both.

Kesha fans who haven’t listened to Dev’s album, The Night the Sun Came Up, should do it. You will realize that it’s nothing like Kesha’s work and hopefully stop with the comparisons.
